You can define which labels are printed for specific item, vendor and location combinations. When a label is printed, JustFoodERP looks at this window to see which version of a report should be printed for the item, vendor, and location combination.  If no combination exists, then an error will be displayed.

You can set up the label configuration for item labels, container labels, shipping container labels and posted shipping container labels.

Before you begin to define which labels reports are printed, you can create custom layouts for the labels (see How to: Create a Custom Report Layout).

Note: If you want a GS1-128 bar code to be printed on the Inventory Label (23019508), then you need to select the Default check box for a GS1-128 type on the Bar Code Types window.

To define the labels to print

  1. Open the Label Configuration window.

    Navigate to /Departments/Administration/Application Setup/Warehouse/Labels/Label Configurations.

  2. Click Edit List.

  3. Enter information in the following fields:

    • Item Type: Select Item or Item Category if you want the label to apply to a specific item or item category. Select All if you want the label to apply to all items.

    • Item Code: Identifies the item or item category that the label applies to. If you selected Item or Item Category in the Item Type field, then you need to select a code in this field.

Note: If a container contains more than one item, then the function will automatically look at the Item Type of All instead of an item-specific label layout.

    • Source Type: Select All if you want the label to apply to all vendors. Select Vendor if you want the label to apply to a specific vendor.

    • Source Code: Identifies the vendor that the label applies to. If you selected Vendor in the Source Type field, then you need to select a code in this field.

    • Location Type: Select All if you want the label to apply to all locations. Select Location if you want the label to apply to a specific location.

    • Location Code: Identifies the location that the label applies to. If you selected Location in the Location Type field, then you need to select a code in this field.

    • Label Type: Select the type of label the information will apply to. See Label Type to learn where the different labels are printed from. You cannot enter the same combination of item, vendor and location for more than one label type.

    • Report ID: Select the report that you want to print for the specific item, vendor and location combination.

      • Item: 23019508 - Inventory Label (Word)

      • Container: 23019825 - Container Summary Label or 23019826 - Container Detail Label

      • Shipping Container: 23019821 - Shipping Container Label or 23019822 - Shipping Container Label (Detail)

      • Posted Shipping Container: 23019823 - Posted Shipping Container Label or 23019824 - Posted Shipping Container Label (Detail)

    • Layout ID: If a custom Word layout was created, select the layout that you want to print for the specific item, vendor and location combination. If a layout isn't selected, the built-in report will be printed.

    • No. of Copies: Enter the number of extra labels to print. If the value is 0 (zero), then only the original label will be printed without any extras.

  4. Click OK.
