These steps explain how to define the menu interfaces in Floor. You can assign a menu interface to a specific menu code.

To set up Floor menus

  1. Open the Floor Interface Menu window.

    Navigate to Departments/Administration/Application Setup/Floor/Menus.

  2. If setting up the menus for a specific menu code, select a value in the Menu Code field, and press <Enter>.

    Otherwise, leave the field blank, and go to step 4.

  3. Copy the default menu to a new menu code,

    1. On the Home tab, choose Copy Menu.

    2. Leave the From Menu Code field blank (this represents the default menu).

    3. In the To Menu Code, select the new menu code.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Close and reopen the Floor Interface Menu window.

  4. To change the menu text, change the value in the Menu Text column to the text that you want to display in Floor.

  5. Change the order of the menu items,

    1. Change the value in the Menu Position column.

      Note: There is the menu position of the main menu items, and there is the position of the items within the main menu. For example, Receiving and Shipping are main menu items, while PO Receiving and Whse. Receiving are child menu items under Receiving.

    2. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Reset Menu Positions to reorder the menu items based on the new menu positions.

  6. To delete a menu item,

    1. Select the item.

    2. From the Home tab, select Delete.

      Note: You must delete all of the child menu items before you can delete a parent menu item.

  7. To add a new item to the Main Menu in Floor,

    1. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Add Menu Item. The Mobile WS Menu Item window opens.

    2. Enter values for the following fields:

      • Menu Type: Select Folder if you want to add child menu items to the menu. Select Link if you want the link to go to a new function screen. You cannot add child menu items to a link.

      • Menu Position: Enter the number that represents the order you want the item to appear in the menu.

      • WS Function: If you selected Folder as the menu type, then select MENU. If you selected Link as the menu type, select the function that you want the link to go to.

      • Menu Text: Enter the text that you want to appear in the menu.

      • Include Search Box: Select this check box if you want the handheld user to be able enter data on which to search.

      • Search Box Text: Enter the text that will explain the type of number to enter in the Search box. The number type is passed on the selected WS function. For example, if select QA as the WS function, the search would be by Quality Audit number.

    3. On the Home tab, choose Add Item.

      Note: Do not click OK, as this will clear all of your changes and close the window.

  8. To add a child menu item to an entry in the Main Menu in Floor,

    1. Select the menu item that you want to add the child item to. The item must have a menu type of Folder.

    2. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Add Child Menu Item. The Mobile WS Menu Item window opens.

    3. Enter values for the following fields:

      • Menu Type: Select Folder if you want to add child menu items to the menu. Select Link if you want the link to go to a new function screen. You cannot add child menu items to a link.

      • Menu Position: Enter the number that represents the order you want the item to appear in the menu.

      • WS Function: If you selected Folder as the menu type, then select MENU. If you selected Link as the menu type, select the function that you want the link to go to.

      • Menu Text: Enter the text that you want to appear in the menu.

      • Include Search Box: Select this check box if you want the handheld user to be able enter data on which to search.

      • Search Box Text: Enter the text that will explain the type of number to enter in the Search box. The number type is passed on the selected WS function. For example, if select QA as the WS function, the search would be by Quality Audit number.

    4. On the Home tab, choose Add Item.

      Note: Do not click OK, as this will clear all of your changes and close the window.

  9. Initialize the menu codes.

    1. Open the Floor Setup window.

    2. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Initialize Menu Codes.

    3. Click OK.

  10. Once the interface information is updated in NAV, you need to reload the Floor interfaces.

    From Floor,

    1. On the Main Menu, tap the Help icon Floor Help Icon.

    2. Tap Reload Menus and Interfaces.

    3. Tap the Back icon Floor Back Icon to return to the Main Menu.

    The interface that you updated in NAV is now updated in Floor.
