You can set an SMTP email notification to be generated every time that an approval is required or when a rejection or delegation occurs.
To set an SMTP notification
- In the Search box, enter Approval Setup, and then choose the related link. 
- On the Notification FastTab, in the Notify User about list, select the events that you want to trigger a notification: - 
                Approvals
- 
                Cancelations
- 
                Rejections
- 
                Delegations
 
- 
                Approvals
- Choose the OK button. 
- In the Search box, enter SMTP Mail Setup, and then choose the related link. 
- Fill in the SMTP Server field and the Authentication field. For more information about a specific field, select the field, and then press F1.  Note Note- The default setting for the SMTP Server Port field is 25. 
- Choose the OK button. 
You can also set up SMTP mail notifications on an Azure deployment. In this case, use Basic authentication.
